PrimeCare Physician Associates opens new Kennebunk facility

PrimeCare Physician Associates, a multi-specialty group practice based in York County, recently opened a new medical office building at 4 Shape Drive in Kennebunk.

Located just off Route 1 north directly behind the Department of Motor Vehicles, the new facility houses eight physicians with specialties in Pediatrics, Family Practice and Internal Medicine. The PrimeCare offices are located on the second floor of the building. Southern Maine Medical Center is leasing the first floor and will be moving their Diagnostic and Therapy Center there in April from its current Main Street location.

“Our practices have grown dramatically over the past five years so there was a need for a lot more space to meet the needs of our patients,” notes Nathan Wilson, MD, managing physician of the site. “Our goal was to design a facility that reflects our commitment to quality care. The result is 10,000 square feet of state of the art treatment space that maximizes privacy and convenience and offers spacious, comfortable waiting areas.”

According to Dr. Wilson, a significant part of the new offices are specifically designed with children in mind. Large murals and whimsical tromp l’oeil paintings of Maine trees and animals painted by Kennebunk artist Gayle Forte accent the waiting areas, hallways and treatment rooms.

“We want our patients to feel as comfortable as possible,” adds Dr. Wilson. “We felt that Gayle’s paintings lend color and brightness and would bring a smile to children of all ages, whether you’re six or 60.”

Dr. Wilson’s PrimeCare Internal Medicine group includes Elaine Carlson, MD, and Jennifer Forsman, MD. They share the facility with Don Burgess, MD, and Gary Allegretta, MD, of PrimeCare Pediatrics and Robert Vaughan, MD, Diane Nugent, DO, Andrea Savona Brown, MD, and Louise Beaulieu, FNP, of PrimeCare Family Practice.

“There is a growing demand for physician services and specialties in the Kennebunks,” says Jim Harrison, Primecare’s CEO. “The new 4 Shape Drive location is easy to find and convenient to a large number of residents of Kennebunk and the surrounding towns. We also made sure there is plenty of parking.”
